James Tanner is a Utah and federal employment law attorney. He focuses his practice on employment law matters, with federal employees, Utah public sector, and private sector employees. He has routinely represented federal employment clients before MSPB (Merit Systems Protection Board) and EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) Administrative Judges, as well as appeals to the full Board of MSPB and the EEOC Commission. He has represented clients from many federal agencies, located within the State of Utah on issues such as discharges, demotions, loss of certification or security clearances, and other adverse actions. He routinely represents employees in discrimination cases, including issues of gender, race or national origin, religion, disability, or age. He represents employees and former employees of the State of Utah, counties, and cities, as well as employees of government contractors. He represents clients on adverse actions taken by private companies, including discipline or performance actions, wrongful discharge actions, discrimination, and retaliation actions (including discrimination, OSHA, False Claims Act, and Sarbanes-Oxley).

James Tanner is a Utah federal employment and general employment law attorney. He opened his private law practice in 1998 after he retired from a career in the federal government. His son, Richard Tanner, joined the law office in 2006. James is a member of the Utah State Bar. He is admitted to practice before Utah State Courts and the U. S. District Court for the District of Utah. He has represented numerous employment law clients throughout the State of Utah, including employees or former employees from the Salt Lake City area, Hill Air Force Base and the Ogden-Layton area Logan to St. George, Roosevelt, Wendover, Tooele, and other Wasatch Front communities.
